I'm a big fan of the small, intimate settings. they're ten times more personal than the stadium with three tiers of seating...nah, something about that just doesn't feel right.
It's refreshing, when playing music, to know that you could talk to anyone in the room without having to jog through miles of generic seating, from section C to RR. It brings you down from "the performer" to being simply "that kid with the guitar". that's what I prefer. Couches and old kitchen chairs promote a flavor of evening that feels real, whether it be flippin some tunes or throwing down three cups of cocoa. and besides, no sound system = no feedback = splendid

truly, truly, no joking involved, my job hunt has finally yielded results. I'm well on my way to becoming a weight room cleaner-upper. In addition I've joined the ranks of college radio board operators. mind you, this kid is still a novice...but every great adventure has meager beginnings.

The newest classroom gadget, as I've just activated for communications, is a little remote (also known as a 'classroom performance system'. hah). I guess we're going to take quizaroos with them...seems pretty nifty, although it's just another technological support for excessive laziness. Apparently paper and pen have proved a mite too strenuous. next thang: remote controlled cereal consumption. although it's difficult to picture in my head...
